Shedir Pharma Cistexx Shedir THE URINARY SYSTEM The urinary system, through the function of the various organs that compose it, deals with the production and elimination of urine. It is formed by the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra: the kidneys mainly provide for the production of urine, they are two and are positioned on the sides of the vertebral column; the ureter is the conduit that allows urine to pass from the kidneys to the urinary bladder: it is present in each of the two kidneys and is covered by a muscular tunic which, by contracting, causes the urine to be expelled into the bladder; the urethra is the channel that connects the bladder with the urethral orifice (meato) and is characterized by different functions and morphologies in the two sexes: if, in fact, in the woman her only function is to allow the expulsion of the urine outside the body, in humans, is instead deputized, as well as the transport of urine to the outside of the body, also to the transport of the sperm; the urinary bladder , in the shape similar to a sphere, collects the urine produced by the kidneys, receives the two ureters (ie the conduits that carry the urine from the kidneys to the bladder) and expels the urine through the urethra. The urine, produced by the kidneys continuously and transported by the ureters, reaches the bladder that receives the liquid as it arrives (filling phase), without losses (continence of the sphincter apparatus); after filling the bladder is able to empty quickly and effortlessly. The urine comes out through the urethra that connects the neck of the bladder to the outside. URINARY INFECTION Urinary tract infections are a very common condition, especially in women. Generally these are benign conditions, destined to resolve after adequate therapy, within a few days; sometimes, however, in people who are fragile, immunosuppressed or affected by other diseases, they can give rise to serious complications, such as serious infections of the kidneys. THE INFECTION OF THE URINE TRIPS ARE DIVIDED IN: infections of the inferior ways (which concern urethra and bladder and are called respectively urethritis and cystitis), these are less severe and often easy to resolve; upper infection (involving ureters and kidneys); Urinary tract infections can be caused by bacteria and, less frequently, by fungi. In general, the bacteria penetrate the urinary tract, rising from the urethra. In young women, a common risk factor for urinary tract infections is sexual activity, particularly if diaphragm and spermicides are used. In humans, infections of the urinary tract can be linked to stenosis (narrowing) of the urethral canal, to problems affecting the prostate, to the presence of bladder stones or to a previous sexually transmitted disease. Some useful tips to help fight urinary tract infections are: maintain accurate hygiene, especially after going to the toilet; empty the bladder after sexual activity and possibly modify the type of contraceptive (diaphragm and spermicides), in case of recurrent infections; do not retain urine if you feel the need to empty your bladder; maintain a good intestinal transit, avoiding constipation. CYSTITE Cystitis is an inflammation of the urinary bladder, acute or chronic. In most cases the inflammatory process is caused by microorganisms (such as streptococci, staphylococci, colibacillus, etc.); more rarely from macroscopic parasites and irritating chemicals. Acute forms may be characterized by frequent and painful urination and cloudy urine. In chronic forms , urination may be less frequent and less painful, but the pyuria (presence of pus in the urine) is constant, while the presence of blood may be rare. They can be considered predisposing factors: retention, traumas, eating disorders, intestinal disorders. Another factor predisposing to cystitis in women may be due to the different anatomical conformation of the last excretory trait, the urethra. The brevity of the female urethra and the proximity to the vagina and the rectum are factors of greater risk and greater prevalence of urinary tract infection in women than men. Some behavioral habits, which concern lifestyle (bad intimate hygiene, unprotected sexual relations, use of nonspecific intimate cleansers and spermicides), can be considered the main responsible for the appearance of cystitis, as well as responsible for the risk of relapse.
