Hamilton watches have seen before in Christopher Nolan films such as ‘Interstellar’ and ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’. This latest partnership involved extensive collaboration between Hamilton’s design team and the production design team behind Christopher Nolan’s latest film. Initial conversations revealed that the film required a watch with features that do not currently exist in a commercially available Hamilton watch. Accepting the challenge, Hamilton committed to merging creativity with craftsmanship to produce this key movie prop.   The 18-month preparation included technical development, testing and production at the Swatch Group’s lab in Switzerland where Hamilton’s engineers found a way to combine the needed technology with the display on the dial of the Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO. To meet filming needs, dozens of the final prop watch were produced and Hamilton watchmakers were on the movie set to offer support with the watch’s unique functions.   John David Washington is the new Protagonist in Christopher Nolan’s original sci-fi action spectacle  TENET . The Case: Cased in lightweight titanium, the dial remains well protected from the great depths of the ocean. The case measures at a size of 46mm which helps draw the attention of any on lookers. A screw down design is featured with four screws helping to tighten the resistance from any water. Furthermore, the crown which can be seen at the 3 o’clock position features a raised guard on either side to protect it from being knocked out of place. Also on the side of the crown is an embossed Hamilton ‘H’ logo. On-top of the case is a black unidirectional bezel which once spun can be used to time a deep dive. Placed on-top of the dial is sapphire crystal glass which further reinforces the dial due to its well-known hardness. The Strap: The all-black theme continues on the rubber strap. The strap has a lug width of 24mm and can be easily fastened using a H-buckle. Also, for all you Hamilton enthusiasts, there strap reference is H600.785.111 The Dial: This special edition features a red-tipped second hand as a reference to a key colour in the movie. The indexes and hands is the epitome of stealth style with a dark grey theme. Additionally, the hands feature a luminous coating which allows for easy visibility at the dark depths of the ocean. Positioned just below the 12 o’clock position is the ever present Hamilton logo alongside the ‘Khaki Automatic’ family at the bottom of the dial. The Functions: A Hamilton exclusive H-10 automatic movement is the heart behind this piece. The H-10 compromises of a three hand display boasting a superior power reserve of 80 hours. Special packaging created by  TENET  production designer Nathan Crowley features colours inspired by design elements in the film.
