Seiko Presage Automatic Porcelain Dial Blue Leather Strap Men\'s Watch SPB171J1 The Seiko SPB171J1 is part of the prestigie Presage family, with only 2,000 pieces being produced worldwide and presented in a special box.   The Case: The silver stainless steel case radiates class through its minimalistic, polished design. It has a profound push/pull crown besides the 3 o’clock marker. The design of the case pays homage to the subtle, understated and charming design codes that have come to define traditional dress watches. For instance, the fixed bezel, all the way through to the addition of straight lugs, underscore the essential and minimalist spirit of Riki Watanabe to perfection. The Dial: This watch uses an arita porcelain dial in a traditional stark white colour. These dials are very difficult to make and the high tolerance around their craft means that it is a very arduous process. They provide a sheen and depth that other dials just cannot, giving this timepiece its peerless aesthetic allure. The process involves the dial being fired at high temperatures, and baking multiple layers of glass powder atop silver or copper. It has a classic appeal, as porcelain was once the choice of decoration of watches during the renaissance. Moreover, the sophisticated motif of the watch is developed through the addition of slender black indexes and blue hands. Using a similar style, a date wheel can be seen at the 6 o’clock position alongside a power reserve display at the 9 o’clock position. The Strap: Another quintessential dress watch feature present is the Cordovan horsehide leather straps with external stitching, this does augment a more relaxed look, which therefore provides this watch with a multifaceted appeal. Furthermore, it comes in a sophisticated blue tone, which works perfectly with the white dial. It fastens easily through the use of a deployment clasp. Functions: This timepiece is powered by an automatic 6R27 movement which comes with a manual wind capacity. An automatic movement is one that can be charged through the natural swing of the rest when walking or working. This movement allows the crown to be spun which will also provide power to the hands. The experts at Seiko have deemed an accuracy of +25 to -15 seconds per day whilst having a power reserve of approximately 45 hours, as seen in the display. The movement is visible through an open sapphire crystal case back. The watch also comes with a hacking function. When the crown is pulled out to adjust the time the second hand will stop. This allows you to set the second hand for precision timing. Once the crown is pushed back in the hands will tick from that second. Lastly, this watch has a water resistance of 100 metres, making it suitable for swimming and snorkelling.
