It was inspired by the design codes of the Bauhaus movement, whereby ‘form follows function’. This dogma forms the basis of the minimalist motif that is present in all Mondaine timepieces. Each dial offers unequivocal levels of legibility through their clean and refined style. Thick black baton style hands and indices are set against the white background of the dial. While Mondaine’s famous red paddle second hand provides the watch with its unmistakable identity. The Mondaine logo is also present beneath the 12 o’clock marker. The Case: This black 32mm case is crafted from renewable raw materials, such as castor oil, wool or cork. A black gasket crown is present on the edge of the case, besides the 3 o’clock marker. It has been embossed with a black Mondaine logo, which incorporates the brands iconic design. Hardened mineral crystal glass sits on top of the case, which is a material renowned for its durability. The Strap: The quirky tartan strap is made from textile and cork, the traditional Scottish pattern provides the watch with a touch of the Highlands. The strap fastens easily using a standard buckle. Moreover, thanks to the innovative strap system, the strap can be changed in seconds, which can give the watch a completely new look. The Functions: This sustainable timepiece is powered by Ronda 736E calibre quartz mechanisms. This provides the watch with a 40 month battery life. It also offers a hacking feature, meaning that the second hand stops when the crown is pulled out to time setting position. This can also be used as a battery saving mechanism, as when pulled out it will reduce battery consumption by 70 . Each model is hand-made in Switzerland, also each model is tested for water resistance up to 30 meters and it comes with a 2-year international warranty.
