Luminox Ice Sar Quartz Black Dial Textile Strap Men\'s Watch XL.1201 The Case: The timepiece has been built using shock resistant construction. The angular case has been constructed from 316L stainless steel that has is completed by a brushed finish. A unidirectional bezel sits on top of the case, the sides of the bezel have been indented to allow it to be easily rotated. Luminox deploys one of its signature design tropes, the oversized knurled gasket crown. It is crown protected and doubly screwed down for additional protection from water. On top of the case sits tough and resilient sapphire crystal glass is used with anti-reflective coating to provide maximum legibility. On the flip side there is a stainless steel screw down case back, which underscores the rigidity of the case. The Dial: The dial has been printed with a world map displaying the coordinates of the ICE-SAR headquarters in Reykjavik in the centre. The time is displayed in both a 12-hour and 24-hour format, while a 60-minute track occupies the chapter ring. A date window replaces the 3 o’clock marker. The cone-shaped cutout handset are inspired by the shape of the carabiners used by the Icelandic rescue teams. The dial is also fitted with no fewer than 14 tritium gaseous light tubes, which can be expected to glow steadily for around 25 years before needing replacement. The Strap: The black strap is made from nylon, which is the perfect material for the strap of an adventure watch due it to it being easy to maintain and comfortable. It fastens easily using a standard buckle, which has been embossed with the Luminox logo. The Functions: Powered by Swiss made Ronda 515 caliber movement. This provides the watch with a 45 month battery life. It also offers a hacking feature, meaning that the second hand stops when the crown is pulled out to time setting position. This can also be used as a battery saving mechanism, as when pulled out it will reduce battery consumption by 70 . It has a water resistance of 200 metres making it suitable for diving.
