In 1961, Max Bill designed a range of mechanical wristwatches in collaboration with Junghans, and Junghans continue to produce these watches practically unchanged today – from the puristic dial with the specially designed, distinctly rounded numerals, to the domed glass which emphasises the historical charm of the watch. The crown, of which can be seen at the 3 o’clock position, then can be pulled out to adjust the time. All in all, the case measures at a diameter of 34mm which complements the sleek height of just 9mm. Sat inline with the case is plexiglass which allows for both a clear view and a resistance to any potential knocks and bumps. The Strap: The beautiful black leather strap complements the silver dial and case well, making for a stylish addition to your wrist. The strap can be easily fastened using a stainless steel buckle according to your size and taste. The Dial: The dial features a matte silver finish design. Black index line markers are seen displaying the seconds around the edge of the dial to keep a simplistic design. Sat just below the 12 o’clock index is the ever present Junghans logo. Both the hands and each three hour index marker features a environmentally friendly luminous coating, allowing for easy visibility at night. The Functions: The steel hands are powered by a hand winding movement, which is achieved by manually spinning the crown. The module in particular used is J805.1 which is known for its long life of 42 hours and reliability. The watch has a water resistance of 30 metres, making it suitable for light splashes. As an additional option the glass can be retrofitted with sapphire crystal which is known for its resilient and clear properties.
