Maurice Lacroix Aikon Automatic Blue Dial Silver Stainless Steel Men\'s Watch AI6038-SS002-430-1 The Case: Made from stainless steel and measuring at 44mm in diameter and 15mm in thickness, this timepiece has an undeniable presence. A 6-clawed bezel sits on top of the case, which gives the watch a similar appearance to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. The claws have been polished, in contrast with the vertically brushed surfaces on the bezel. The bevelled edges of the bezel have also been polished which gives the case a sharp angular appearance. The juxtaposition between polished  and brushed surfaces is a motif that is present throughout the case. The oversized push buttons and embossed crown contribute to the watches presence. The sharp tapered angles of the case and integrated lugs offset the weight and size of the case. Sapphire crystal glass protects the dial. The Dial: The dial consists of a textured pattern that is synonymous with the ‘clous de paris’ design, which translates to ‘hobnails pattern’, due to its raised appearance. Three sub-dials with metallic blue finishes occupy the 12,6 and 9 o’clock positions on the dial, they each have a metallic frame. They display 60-second, 30-minute and 12-hour readings. A day-date window is present at the 3 o’clock mark, it also has a metallic frame. Silver slender applied markers run around the edge of the dial, completing the dial’s uncluttered layout. Slim baton-style hands occupy the centre of the dial, they have been filled with a luminous material to allow for nighttime readability. A chapter ring displays a 60-minute scale for more accurate reading of the time. The Bracelet: The integrated 5-link bracelet is made from stainless steel and features a quick release system that allows the watch to be taken on and off easily. The brushed bracelet features some polished edges to provide some great contrast. The butterfly clasp features perlage-decorations and a Maurice Lacroix engraving. The Functions: The Aikon Chronograph is powered by ML112, it has a power reserve of 48 hours and it consists of 25 jewels. The movement can be viewed through the open case back.
