Echoing the stories based on personal, moral and social development, each timepiece represents one of the seven key different Ninja characters through the dial and bezel colour combination. All feature a stylish co-ordinating Nato nylon strap. This design is representative of the Naruto character – the main character of the stories, a ninja from the fictional village of Konohagakure (Hidden Leaf Village). For over 50 years, Seiko 5 Sports has delivered consistently high levels of reliability, durability, performance and value, endearing them to lovers of mechanical watches worldwide. Today, with a new design, this much-loved timepiece is re-born. ‘’5’’ represents the original five key attributes of every Seiko 5 watch: Automatic movement, Day-date display at the three o’clock position, Water Resistance, Recessed crown at the four o’clock position and Durable case and bracelet – features still present today. The Case: The 40mm gold coloured case of this Seiko 5 Sports Naruto SRPF70K1 model is made from brushed  stainless steel, which offers the wearer unparalleled levels of anti-corrosiveness, as well as ensuring greater shine longevity. Hardlex glass has also been used in order to provide further protection. There is also a non-screw down crown present besides the 4 o’clock marker, which allows the watch to sit comfortably upon the wearer’s wrist. The worn-like silver uni-directional bezel and case reflect the tough training required to become a Hokage, a title bestowed on the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village where Naruto belongs.  The bezel ring plate is designed after his forehead protector which is engraved with the symbol of his village. The case back is transparent, which allows the wearer to view the inner mechanisms of the timepiece. Uzumaki Clan\'s Kamon, or Japanese emblem used to decorate and identify an individual, family, or institution, is printed on the case back, as well as the serial number of the model as it is limited to just 6,500 pieces. The Dial: The design of the dial evokes Naruto’s iconic orange ninja outfit. The sunburst orange dial has hues of black which capture the essence of Naruto’s renowned outfit, a combination of white and orange pointed hour markers are located on the outer edge of the dial. Each marker consists of a lumibrite material which allows for nighttime visibility. A day date window replaces the 3 o’clock marker, A silver hand set occupies the centre of the dial. The hour hand comes in a syringe-style, while the minute  comes in an arrow-style. Both have been filled with lumbrite material. The Seiko 5 logo sits beneath the 12 o’clock marker. The Strap: The nylon strap imitates the colour of Naruto’s costume, with the orange strap featuring a blue stripe through the middle of. It makes for an eye-catching design, which draws directly from the characters aesthetics. It fastens easily using a standard buckle. The Functions: The Seiko 5 Sports range boast Seiko’s new upgraded 4R36 automatic. It is the same movement that is found in more expensive Seiko models, such as the ‘Turtle’ that belongs to the Prospex range. The movement consists of 24 jewels and it operates at 21,600 beats per hour. This ensures the watch has 40 hours of power reserve. It includes Seiko Diashock, which essentially protects the inner mechanisms from any damage the watch may sustain if it were to be dropped or knocked. It is expected to either gain or loose between +45 / -35 seconds per day. Finally, this watch has a water resistance of 100 metres, making it suitable for swimming and snorkelling.
