Casio G-Shock Quartz Digital Dial Black Resin Strap Men\'s Watch GMW-B5000G-2ER The Case: The case measures at 43.2mm across and 13mm in thickness, retaining the same dimensions as the original GMW-5000s. The case is tank like, as it is water resistant up to 200 metres, it is able to endure extreme temperatures and it is virtually indestructible. The bezel of the watch is fixed, which adds to the durability of the watch as most watches tend to have an attached bezel. Notably, the bezel is raised which provides extra protection to the mineral crystal glass. Also, the pattern next to the bezel is the solar cells that power the movement. The majority of the steel case is polished, but the bezel is vertically brushed, a nod to traditional watchmaking. The contrast between the brushed and polished surfaces is particularly pleasing. It is a technique that is typical to high end watches, such as the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. This illustrates the craftsmanship that has gone into this watch. The Bracelet: The black resin strap contributes greatly to how the watch looks. In regards to the design of the bracelet, there are small circular indentations near the edges of each link, this harks back to the old design of the resin models. The bracelet fastens using a standard clasp, that features a ‘G-Shock’ engraving. The Dial and Functions: The dial is strictly digital and the LCD display is powered by solar power. At full charge the watch can operate for 22 months. Significantly, the watch uses a super-twisted nematic display with neutral-coloured background, making the display highly legible. The time is display is in digits and features a day date function. In addition to these standard functions the watch offers a plethora of advanced functions. This includes a  B luetooth functions, a countdown timer that can measure from 1 second up to 24 hours, a stopwatch with 1/100th of a second accuracy and split time functionality, 5 daily alarms (with 1 snooze alarm) and an hourly time signal, a world time function with ability to select 5 world times from 39 cities, as well as a full auto-calendar, and 12/24 hour format switching. These functions can be accessed using the buttons on the side of the watch, as well as through the app. All you have to do is sync the watch with “G-Shock Connected” app, you can do everything from setting reminders, to manually syncing atomic time with the push of a button.
