Junghans Max Bill Regulator Edition Set 60 Automatic White Dial Beige Leather Strap Men’s Watch ??27/3190.02 The Case: This Junghans Max Bill Regulator Edition Set 60 27/3190.02 features a polished stainless steel case that is presented with a dark anthracite PVD coating. The case measures just 38mm in diameter and it has a refined design which consists of a fixed bezel, short lugs and a crown that is located at 3 o’clock on the side of the case. This understated style of design is atypical of Max Bill’s own Bauhaus-informed take on industrial design. The case is completed by the anti-reflective sapphire crystal which ensures that the watch remains always readable and protected against scratches and shattering. On the back of the case there is a solid case back, with Max Bill’s signature engraved into it.  The Dial: The Max Bill Regulator breaks down the time display into its three fundamental components: hours, minutes and seconds. The minute scale is presented through a 60-minute track which is located around the edge of the dial; it features Junghans luminescent twin pips at 12 o’clock which are integrated into the number 60 which denotes the 60th anniversary of Bill’s famous design. There are also additional luminescent pips that are present at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. The hour scale is presented through a 12-hour sub-dial which is located at 12 o’clock. It consists of Arabic numerals and an anthracite pencil-style hand that is filled with an orange luminescent material. An additional sub-dial located at 6 o’clock is used to present the 60-second display. Extending out from the centre of the dial is a pencil-style handset that is filled with an orange luminescent material.  The Strap: A calf leather strap in a warm beige grey, blends harmoniously with the high-contrast presentation and pairs the colouring in a perfectly balanced display. It fastens securely around the wrist through a stainless steel buckle that has the Junghans logo engraved into it.  The Functions: The Junghans Max Bill Regulator is powered by a movement that is based on the ETA-2824 but called the J.800.5. The movement is modified so that the hours are read off a subdial at 12 o’clock, while the minutes are read off the central minute hand. The power reserve is also slightly longer at 42 hours. It is water resistant up to 30 metres, which means it should not be exposed to anything more than light splashes of water.  This watch is one of three watches that form the Junghans Max Bill Edition Set 60 collection, which celebrates 60 years since the release of the first line of mechanical watches designed by Max Bills. This year Junghans are celebrating this anniversary with the release of an exclusive collector’s trio of watches: Limited to just 1,060 units worldwide, the aptly named max bill Edition Set 60 comprises three very different timepieces. Although each watch comes in its own box, they are collectively presented in a commemorative special edition box.
