This Seiko Astron GPS watch features Calibre 3X - the very latest Astron GPS Solar movement. In size, in energy efficiency and in signal reception, it demonstrates how far Seiko’s technology has come since the introduction of the first GPS Astron Solar watch. The case is less than 40mm in diameter thanks to the reduced GPP reception antenna that uses components distributed across a single plate. The watch maintains the same high level of reception performance and offering a power reserve of approximately six months. Conveniently solar-powered; the watch charges from both natural and electric light with no need for a battery replacement. The Case: This Seiko Astron SSJ007J1 features a stainless steel case that measures 39mm diameter. The case has a distinctive angular appearance which is imparted through its angular sides, the beveled walls of the fixed bezel and the sharp tapered lugs. The case has been treated to a brushed finish, which provides the watch with a clean utilitarian feel. On the side of the case there is a crown which is located in between two push buttons that are located at 2 and 4 o’clock. Optimum legibility and protection against scratches and shattering is provided for through the super-clear coated sapphire crystal glass.  The Dial: The dial exhibits an uncomplicated layout and a black textured design. Applied baton-style silver hour markers and interspersed by a 60-minute scale which is located on the dial’s chapter ring. Luminescent markers are also present on the chapter ring above each of the hour markers. A silver framed date-display window is located beside the 3 o’clock, while a luminescent filled arrow-style handset extends out from the centre of the dial. The Seiko logo is presented in silver beneath the 12 o’clock marker. The Bracelet: The bracelet is made from stainless steel and it comes fashioned in a classic three-link oyster style. The simplistic design of the oyster bracelet was first introduced by Rolex in 1948 and it has since been closely associated with sports watches, due to their utilitarian character that ensures that the bracelet remains secured to the wrist during sporting activities. The three fold clasp, with secure lock, also helps to ensure that the watch remains securely fastened to the wearer’s wrist. The Functions: This timepiece is powered by caliber 3X22 GPS solar quartz which provides this watch with an accuracy of +/- 15 seconds per month.
