Seiko Presage Style 60\'s Automatic Silver Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet Men\'s Watch SSA423J1 Seiko Presage Style 60\'s SSA423J1 Automatic Mens Watch  is from the Presage Style 64 collection: practical modern watches with retro vintage 1960s looks.  The collection is inspired by the design of Japan ’s first ever chronograph, originally created by Seiko in 1964 to coincide with an important sporting event in Tokyo. This modern version is updated with the 4R movement and lumibrite in subtle sepia to create its vintage look with no compromise on brightness and practicality. Seiko Presage: Timeless looks, precisely Japanese mechanical timekeeping. Minimalistic watch designs with a distinctly Japanese aesthetic. The Case: The silver stainless steel case is complemented by sleek silver tones that bestow the watch with a quintessential dress watch feel. The design of the watch is inspired by Seiko’s 1964 crown chronograph, these modern iterations retain the same shape and feel as the original 1964 models through their fixed 60-minute bezel, box-shaped Hardlex crystal and the same 40.8mm diameter. The fixed black bezel is complemented by elegant silver markers that form a 60-minute scale. The SSA423J1 measures on 12.8mm in height, which allows it to sit appropriately under a shirt cuff or other formal-style attire. On the side of the case there is an easy-to-grip silver crown that has been embossed with the Seiko logo. The Dial: The understated design of the cream dial is accentuated by the presence of the an ‘open-heart’ feature which allows the wearer an insight into the functions of the watch. They were first designed by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1795, it was designed to minimise the effect of gravity over the deviation. However in recent times the design feature has become a benchmark for traditional luxury watchmaking. The dial displays both the 12-hour time and the 24-hour time. The 12-hour time is displayed through simplistic silver baton style hour markers, whilst the 24-hour time is displayed through a sub-dial that is positioned above the open-heart feature. A timeless dauphine style handset is presented in silver and is filled with a luminescent material, that allows the dial to be read in the dark. The Seiko logo is exhibited neatly in white besides the 3 o’clock marker to ensure, whilst the Presage logo can be seen above the 6 o’clock marker. The Bracelet: The bracelet is made from stainless steel and it comes fashioned in a classic three-link oyster style. The simplistic design of the oyster bracelet was was first introduced by Rolex in 1948 and it since been closely associated with sports watches, due to their utilitarian character that ensures that the bracelet remains secured to the wrist during sporting activities. The three fold clasp, with secure lock, also helps to ensure that the the watch remains securely fastened to the wearer’s wrist. The Functions: Seiko’s 4R39 automatic movement which has a power reserve of 41-hours. It consists of 24 jewels and it has an accuracy of +45/-35 seconds per day. It also offers hand winding feature, as well as a hacking feature. It is water resistant up to 50 metres, which permits the wearer to wear the watch when swimming in shallow water.
