The Case: The Swatch Space Collection ‘Launch’ NASA is inspired by the iconic NASA white spacesuit. It is made from bioceramic material, which is made from sustainable materials such as castor bean oil. The silver case measures 47mm and 14mm in thickness. It is topped with a bold orange bezel that pays homage to the “Pumpkin Suit” worn during space launches. A screw in crown is present at the 3 o’clock mark, it is stylised blue. Either side of the crown there are two push buttons, which provides the wearer with access to the chronograph functions. Domed mineral glass sits on top of the case, providing protection to the dial. The Dial: The metallic multi-tonal dial has a futuristic feel to it, while also offering NASA’s traditional aesthetic style, through the touches of white, blue and red. The contrasting red and blue framed pencil style handset are offset by the subtle white dial. Three sub-dials are present on the dial in red, while a subtle date window is placed beside the 4 o’clock marker. The Strap: The bold orange silicone strap is presented in white and features NASA’s branding, making for a classic offering that complements the watch’s bold but unpretentious style. The strap is also water resistant, highly durable and extremely comfortable when it is on the wrist. It fastens securely using a standard plastic buckle. The Functions: This timepiece is powered by highly reliable Swiss-made quartz mechanisms. It is water resistant up to 30 metres, making it suitable for light splashes.
