Seiko Astron GPS Solar White Dial Titanium Bracelet Mens Watch SSH104J The Case: This Seiko Astron GPS Solar White Dial SSH104J is crafted from titanium, a material which is far lighter and more durable than its stainless steel counterpart. The case measures 42.8mm in diameter and it has been treated with a super-hard coating, which provides additional support against damages. Dual curved sapphire crystal glass is embedded into the case, providing the watch with protection from scratches and knocks. The glass also has an anti-reflective coating that ensures high legibility at any angle and in any light. On the side of the case there is an elegant rose gold screw down crown, which provides a striking visual contrast with the angular brushed surface of the case. Either side of the crown are two push buttons, which provide easy access to the dial’s numerous functions. On the back of the case there is a screw down case back, which is engraved with the watch’s serial number. The Bracelet: The bracelet of the Seiko Astron SSH104J follows suit, it is made from titanium that has been finished with a super hard coating to ensure for maximum protection against scratches. The 5-link bracelet is in the style of a jubilee bracelet that has been polished, which gives the bracelet a sheen. The bracelet has a three-fold clasp with a push-button release and Smart Adjuster function. The Dial: The black dial is accentuated by opulent rose gold accents. It dial consists of deeply applied and well defined silver hour markers, as well as a bold dauphine style handset that has been filled with LumiBrite material to allow for nighttime readability. Despite the dial displaying a number of complications it remains easily accessible. A sub-dial is positioned at 6 o’clock indicates home time, whilst the sub-dial at 3 o’clock indicates the day of the week on the local time, and an AM/PM indicator is set within. Another sub-dial at 9 o’clock acts as a function indicator and a power reserve indicator. A subtle day display window is presented in between the 4 and 5 o’clock markers, while the Seiko logo is presented beneath the 12 o’clock mark. One of the watch’s most astounding features is its accuracy, when the watch synchronises with Seiko’s atomic clock in their GPS satellite it offers an extraordinary time accuracy of 1 second deviation every 100,000 years. The watch synchronises twice a day to an atomic clock in a GPS satellite. The first connection of the day will be made when the dial sensor detects sunlight and the second is made at a time that is predetermined and set by the wearer, to accommodate their needs. Although without GPS connection, the quartz movement keeps time to the standard +/- 15 per month accuracy. This model has a water resistance of 200 metres, which means that the watch can be worn for activities such as diving.
