Seiko Presage Style 60\'s Automatic Black Open Heart Dial Brown NATO Strap Mens Watch SSA426J1 Seiko Presage Style 60\'s Mens SSA426J1 Automatic Brown Strap Watch is a timepiece from the Presage Style 64 collection: practical modern watches with retro vintage 1960s looks.  The collection is inspired by the design of Japan’s first ever chronograph, originally created by Seiko in 1964 to coincide with an important sporting event in Tokyo.  This modern version is updated with the 4R movement and lumibrite in subtle sepia to create its vintage look with no compromise on brightness and practicality. Seiko Presage: Timeless looks, precisely Japanese mechanical timekeeping.  Minimalistic watch designs with a distinctly Japanese aesthetic. The Case: The gold PVD stainless steel case is complemented by sleek brown tones that bestow the watch with a genuine vintage feel. The design of the watch is inspired by Seiko’s 1964 crown chronograph, these modern iterations retain the same shape and feel as the original 1964 models through their fixed 60-minute bezel, box-shaped Hardlex crystal and the same 40.8mm diameter. The fixed black bezel is complemented by elegant gold markers that form a 60-minute scale. The SSA426J1 measures on 12.8mm in height, which allows it to sit appropriately under a shirt cuff or other formal-style attire. On the side of the case there is an easy-to-grip golden crown that has been embossed with the Seiko logo. The Dial: The understated design of the brown dial is accentuated by the presence of the an ‘open-heart’ feature which allows the wearer an insight into the functions of the watch. They were first designed by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1795, it was designed to minimise the effect of gravity over the deviation. However in recent times the design feature has become a benchmark for traditional luxury watchmaking. The dial displays both the 12-hour time and the 24-hour time. The 12-hour time is displayed through simplistic gold baton style hour markers, whilst the 24-hour time is displayed through a sub-dial that is positioned above the open-heart feature. A timeless dauphin style handset is presented in gold and is filled with a luminescent material, that allows the dial to be read in the dark. The Seiko logo is exhibited neatly in white besides the 3 o’clock marker to ensure, whilst the Presage logo can be seen above the 6 o’clock marker. The Strap: The SSA423J1 comes presented on a brown strap with rose gold polished buckles. The NATO style strap offers superlative functionality and comfort. Although it is a style of strap that is most commonly associated with military style watch’s, the strap has a timeless feel that supplements the watch’s classic appeal. It fastens securely through the use of a standard buckle. The Functions: This timepiece is powered by Seiko’s 4R39 automatic movement which has a power reserve of 41-hours. It consists of 24 jewels and it has an accuracy of +45/-35 seconds per day. It also offers hand winding feature, as well as a hacking feature. It is water resistant up to 50 metres, which permits the wearer to wear the watch when swimming in shallow water.
