The dial’s depth and rich texture echoes a Karesansui or Zen garden in which gravel is raked into serene patterns like waves or rippling water. The clear layout echoes the free, uncluttered space and the contrast of light and shadow. This particular design has been inspired by the delicate daytime view of “Sakura” – cherry blossom – the infamous floral symbol of Spring in Japan. The Case: The Seiko SSA421J1 is a minimalist watch that reflects the brand’s many years of expertise and superlative levels of craftsmanship. This timepiece features an elegant stainless steel case, that flaunts slightly curved lugs and a crown at three o’clock. Dual-curved sapphire crystal glass sits on top of the case, ensuring the watch has optimum resistance against shattering and smashing. Sapphire crystal glass is also present on the see-through case back on the back of the watch. This offers the wearer a glimpse into the complex inner workings of this expertly crafted automatic caliber timepiece. The Dial: The intricate the dial is composed a deep blue tone-two and multi-texture design, which is inspired by a nighttime view of ‘Sakura’, which is the Japanese word for ‘cherry blossom’. A flower that that symbolises the spring, the beauty of nature, the renewal, and the ephemeral nature of life. One half of the watch features a deeply pressed pattern on the dial creates dramatic shadows, as do the furrows of gravel in the Karesansui garden. The dial’s lavish aesthetics are reinforced by the rose gold Roman numerals and the elegant rose gold alpha style handset. The Seiko logo, present besides the 3 o’clock position, is also present in rose gold. Two sub-dial also feature on the dial, one displays a 24-hour reading, while the other is an open-heart window that allows the wearer to view the inner workings of the watch. The Strap:  The watch comes embedded on a classy black calf skin leather strap. The dark hues of the strap are accentuated by the silver stainless steel of the case. It features a three-fold clasp with secure lock and push button release with extender. The Functions: This timepiece is powered by 4R39 caliber automatic movement, it consist of 24 jewels and offers a battery life of approximately 41 hours.
