Released in conjunction with the upcoming FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, this is a timepiece that pays homage to classic retro sports watches of the past. The case of the Junghans 1972 Automatic FIS Limited Edition is sculpted in brushed stainless steel with polished elements that beautifully play off the light. With a diameter of 46.9mm, it is a good size for performing in rigorous winter sports.  Robust in all scenarios, this is a case that is some 14.5mm thick. What’s more, on the back side, the screw-in caseback has a unique engraving signifying the Limited Edition. There are two screw-down crowns on this watch, one at two and one at four. One of these is engraved with a snowflake, a nod to the winter sports. The other is engraved with the Junghans star logo. The Dial: With a simple white dial, there are luminous hour indexes and hands for full legibility in all conditions. Most striking is the inner ring, which shows the minutes on a blue track and a second time zone on a red ring display. Selected to match the colours of the event logo, these rings bring an athletic spark to the watch. What’s more, the inner ring can be rotated in both directions. The Bracelet: A stainless-steel bracelet finishes the image of this watch and uses a folding clasp to remain secure at all times.  The watch is supplied in a special commemorative presentation box including two additional interchangeable leather straps. One is white with blue and red accents and the other comes in dark blue with a grey underside. Using a unique cut-out circle pattern to intensify the sporty vibe, this watch sits secure on the wrist with a stainless-steel pin buckle. The Function: Using a J830 automatic calibre with a 48-hour power reserve, the Junghans 1972 Automatic FIS Limited Edition is water resistant to 300m and boasts a steely three-point shock-absorber. With a date function and second time zone legible via an inner ring that can be rotated on both sides, this is a deeply practical athletic timepiece.
