The matte finish almost creates a rough and ready attitude for this timepiece which would have been used in the harsh reality of the trenches. At the 3 o\'clock position is the crown which once pulled out can be used to tell the time. Furthermore, the ever present Hamilton logo has been embossed on the side of the crown. Sitting in line with the case is glass made from a strong sapphire crystal material. The Dial: The white dial is complemented well by the black Arabic indexes and the old radium colour hands. The hands as well as some triangular indexes around the very edge of the dial are coated in a Super-LumiNova material which allows for easy visibility at night. The time can be easily read with a three hand display as well as a 12 and 24 hour display. Additionally, the Hamilton logo can be seen towards the centre of the dial. The Strap: A khaki green military NATO strap is what catches the eye with this piece. It sits nicely around your wrist with a standard 20mm lug width and can be fastened using a standard pin buckle. The H-50 movement has been specifically designed for mechanical movement such as this watch. It has an incredible power reserve of 80 hours, ensuring maximum reliability even when it is not wound for a few days. The watch also comes with a hacking function. When the crown is pulled out to adjust the time the second hand will stop. This allows you to set the second hand for precision timing. Once the crown is pushed back in the hands will tick from that second. This watch has a water resistance of 50 metres, making it suitable for surface swimming.
