The watch was one of the emblematic creations of the space-age era. It was originally designed in collaboration with Electro/Data Inc. It was named Pulsar after the pulsating neutron stars that emit beams of radiation at ultra-precise frequencies. Its groundbreaking technology disrupted the market, and its futuristic looks made it a favourite of forward thinkers and style leaders including Jack Nicholson, Joe Frazier, Elton John and Keith Richards. Fifty years later, the Hamilton PSR H52424130 celebrates the launch of that revolutionary first digital watch with this piece limited to 1,970 pieces.  The Case: The round cushion like gold PVD stainless steel case follows the same dimensions of the original watch, 40.8mm by 34.7mm. The glass is made up from sapphire crystal glass which is an upgrade from the mineralite used on the original piece. Sapphire crystal glass is known for its robustness and also comes with an anti-reflective coating, preventing glare caused by the sun. The name \'Pulsar\' was engraved on the front of the case on the original piece but this has now been replaced with \'Hamilton\' due to the brand being purchased by Seiko. Additionally, the case back features a screwed design alongside an engraved Pulsar star and the serial number. All in all this has provided the model with a water resistance of 100 metres, a far cry from the original 30 metres. The Bracelet: The bracelet on this model is made from gold PVD stainless steel with a brushed finish on-top. The bracelet has a lug width of 24mm which complements the rounded case well. Also, the bracelet can be fastened using a folding clasp to sit comfortably around your wrist. For all you Hamilton enthusiasts, the bracelet reference for this model is H605.524.200. The Dial & Functions: The dial for this piece makes use of a hybrid LCD and OLED display. The Liquid Crystal Display allows the watch to be visible at anytime during the day. On the other hand, the Organic Light Emitting Diodes can be used by pressing the button on the side of the case, bringing up high-contrast numerals in the classic dot style.
