Hamilton PSR Black Watch H52404130 American Classic Quartz Men’s, originally released in In 1970, when Hamilton changed how the world told time with the debut of the Hamilton Pulsar. The watch was one of the emblematic creations of the space-age era. It was originally designed in collaboration with Electro/Data Inc. It was named Pulsar after the pulsating neutron stars that emit beams of radiation at ultra-precise frequencies. Its groundbreaking technology disrupted the market, and its futuristic looks made it a favourite of forward thinkers and style leaders including Jack Nicholson, Joe Frazier, Elton John and Keith Richards. The Case: The iconic cushion shape of the case is taken directly from the Hamilton Pulsar P2 and in the same dimensions of 40.8mm x 34.7mm, The case is crafted out of stainless steel that has been treated to a brushed finish. A push-button is located at 3 o’clock on the side of the case, this is used to turn the LED display on and off. The front case is engraved with the Hamilton logo that can be seen in the bottom right hand corner, whilst the caseback is engraved with a Pulsar star. Sapphire crystal glass offers protection against scratches and shattering. The Dial: The dial is illuminated through a hybrid LCD and OLED digital display that allows the red digit-dot numerals to be read at a glance during the day and with the push of a button at night. The LCD technology in the screen is what allows for the always-on function and, therein, is able to display the time constantly with very low energy consumption. The OLED portion of the screen lights up to provide better visibility, using ‘digit dot’ style numerals, when the button on the right of the case is pressed. The Bracelet: The Hamilton PSR is equipped with a stainless steel 3-link bracelet. The bracelet fastens through the use of a fold over clasp. The Functions: This timepiece is powered by quartz mechanisms, which offer superlative accuracy and a battery life of approximately 5 years.
