Casio G-Shock Bhutan Kingdom Quartz Black Dial Traditional Pattern Textile Strap Mens Watch GA-2000BT-1AER RRP £149
Casio G-Shock Bhutan Kingdom Quartz Black Dial Traditional Pattern Textile Strap Mens Watch GA-2000BT-1AER RRP £149 This Casio G-Shock watch GA-2000BT-1AER is inspired by the country of Bhutan. Throughout the watch are traditional patterns of the \'Bhutan Kingdom\', who have been ranked continually as the happiest nation in the world. This includes five colours that make up Lunta, a prayer flag. Runta consists of five colors: blue, white, red, green, and yellow, meaning water, wind, fire, wood, and ground, respectively. The Case: The case of this watch uses the recently developed carbon core guard structure. The lightweight carbon fibre reinforced case features a very high strength and hardness for improved durability. Additionally, four screws on the case go through to the case-back to further protect the case. Of course this feature easily earns the G-Shock name as well as being low temperature, vibration and magnetic resistant. The G-Shock logo as well as the labels for the buttons are in the colour of yellow, meaning ground.  The Strap: The strap features the beautiful Lunta prayer flag on-top of a black textile material. A quick release strap function allows the textile strap to be easily changed with the additional black resin strap this product comes with. The resin strap features the same pattern but in a monochrome style. Either strap is then fastened using a standard buckle.  The Dial & Functions: The dial features both yellow and red accents, meaning ground and fire respectively. At the top of the dial is the ever present Casio logo as well as the hot G-Shock logo. A small digital sub-dial which sits at 3 o\'clock displays the day of the week with the date seen at the 6 o\'clock position on the default setting. A menu selector sits at the 9 o\'clock position on this piece to access its great array of features. The first feature which can be selected is the alarm function. The alarm function allows you to set five daily alarms as well as giving off an hourly signal on the dot. The next setting is a timer. The countdown timer has a range of 24 hours and can be measured to the second. The third feature to be selected is a stopwatch. Again this has a measuring capacity of 24 hours and can be measured up to 1/100th of a second for the first 60 minutes. The measuring modes include elapsed time, split time and 1st and 2nd place according to your needs. The fourth option is a world time display. This allows you to see the time in major cities around the world, perfect for those currently or seeking travel.   The features as well as the hands are powered by a quartz movement. This movement has an accuracy of 30 seconds per month, or a second a day. With a push of a button the hands move away from the LCD to permit free visibility. A luminous coating on the watch hands provides illumination in the dark.   This watch has a water resistance of 200 metres, making it suitable for diving.    Key Features:   200m Water Resistant +-15 Seconds Per Month Five Daily Alarms Auto Calendar Resin Interchangeable Band 3 Year Battery Life Carbon-Reinforced Resin Casing New Carbon Core Guard Structure Countdown Timer Day/Date Display 51.2 x 48.7 x 14.1 mm Hand Shift Function Display Illumination Low Temperature Resistant Magnetic Resistant Mineral Glass Mute Function Neobrite Shock Resistant Stopwatch Function 56 Grams Vibration Resistant World Time   The Family: G-Shock At a time when watches were seen as fragile, delicate instruments, Casio’s head of watch design, Kikuo Ibe, set out in 1981 to create “a watch that doesn’t break, even when dropped.” After 200 prototypes and two years of development, the Casio G-Shock was launched in 1983. Gaining its now legendary toughness from Ibe’s revolutionary decision to suspend the module inside a hollow rubber structure, the G-Shock has been the go-to name in superbly durable and precise wristwear ever since. The Brand: Casio Casio was established in 1946 by Japanese engineer Tadao Kashio. The company entered the timepiece market in 1974 with the release of the Casiotron, the world’s first Auto Calendar watch. Only eleven years after entering this field, Casio completely reshaped global thought about the function a watch should perform with the release of the pioneering and now legendary G-Shock family. Innovation and world firsts have defined the company’s history ever since. Thee most striking of these being the release of the first ever touch screen watch in 1991, 24 years before the Apple Watch, and the first ever wrist camera watch in 2000. In short, Casio was producing smartwatches decades before the term came into use. Add to this the hipster popularity of the company’s retro designs, and Casio has firmly cemented its reputation as a famously reliable and precise name in both analogue and digital watches.
