Seiko Prospex \'Sumo\' Solar Blue Dial Black Silicone Strap Chronograph Diver\'s Men\'s Watch SSC759J1 RRP £550
Seiko Prospex \'Sumo\' Solar Blue Dial Black Silicone Strap Chronograph Diver\'s Men\'s Watch SSC759J1 RRP £550   History:   Since Seiko made its first diving watch in 1965, Seiko has been exceeding the expectations of those whose sports require watches with truly professional specifications. Drawing from Seiko\'s roots, a \'Sumo\' series has become popular among Seiko fanatics. Sumo wrestling is the national sport of Japan. Once patronized by the emperors, Sumo\'s origins go back at least 1,500 years, making it the world\'s oldest organized sport. In its long history sumo has gone through many changes and many of the rituals that go along the sport that seem old were in fact conceived in the 20th century. The piece is so named due to its big and thick case style resembling that of a wrestler.   Style:   A blue dial is complimented by silver indexes and hands, of which are powered by a solar movement. Also, a simplistic date window can be seen inbetween the 4 and 5 o\'clock index. Additionally, the ever present Seiko Prospex logo can be seen at 12 o\'clock. Then, a stainless steel case surrounds the dial to provide it with protection from any knocks.    Functions:   The precise and safe operation of the uni-directional bezel prevents accidental rotation. This is to prevent the watch from displaying the elapsed time shorter than it actually is. Also, the dial features three chronographs which act as a stopwatch, perfect for a run in the park or timing your dive at the depths of the ocean. The indexes and hands are coated in LumiBrite to allow for easy visibility where the sunlight can no longer reach down below. This piece is powered by a V192 solar movement. This movement has a staggering accuracy of 15 seconds per month as well as a 6 month power reserve when fully charged. The dial is protected by sapphire crystal glass which is highly resistant with a three fold clasp featuring a secure lock. This kind of protection is crucial when it comes to diving at the depths of the ocean.   This watch has a water resistance of 200 metres, making it suitable for diving.  Made In Japan: Firstly, for all you Seiko enthusiasts, this premium timepiece has been made and produced in Japan, indicated by the suffix ‘J’. Notably, the creation of the world’s first quartz watch in 1969. Or equally impressive the creation of the world’s first TV watch in 1982. And even more relevant today, with our abhorrent use of non-renewable energy sources, Seiko’s Kinetic. This watch had the ability to generate its own power from the movement of the wearer, it was released in 1988. The listed technological developments serve as evidence to illustrate the revolutionary impact which Seiko has had on the watchmaking world. They are also remarkably unique in that they manufacture every aspect of every watch in-house. They even grow their own quartz crystals and sapphires, hence why Seiko are renowned for being watchmaking experts.   If you have any questions please  click here Click here to join our  facebook  and  Instagram !
