Seiko Essential time 140 th Anniversary Quartz Men’s Watch SUR457P1 The Case: The 40mm case size hits the sweat spot for most wrist sizes. At only 8mm thick and 113g in weight it’s extremely comfortable to wear. The case’s sleek lines and timeless design are reminiscent of early iconic Seiko watches, which is very fitting as this watch celebrates the brands 140 th Anniversary. The polished case ensures durability and versatility as this watch would work just as well under the cuff of a dress shirt or in a more casual setting. Finishing the case off is a high polish bezel adding yet another level of detailing. The Dial: At first glance the dial appears to have a white dial, but upon closer inspection features a light grey sunburst dial. The standout features of this dial are the pops of blue that set this watch apart. The seconds track is neatly presented on a vibrant blue inner slopped chapter ring that outlines the dial. Accompanying it is a matching blue handset that provides clear legibility against the white dial. The hands also feature LumiBrite for ultimate visibility in the dark. The applied hour markers help add depth to the dial and also feature small luminous dots on their outer edges. At the 3 o’clock position is a neatly framed white date wheel. The dial manages to remain simple and elegant while offering a sportier modern twist. The Bracelet: Paired with a 3-link oyster styled bracelet adds a touch of sportiness. Seiko have shown off their attention to detail by adding high polished sections to the centre links. Holding the watch securely fastened is a push button deployment clasp with two micro-adjustments. The Functions: The watch is powered by a Quartz 6N52 in-house Seiko movement. This is a true workhorse movement with outstanding accuracy of plus or minus 15 seconds per month.
