A thick, warming select reserve dram from the Highland distillery, Lochnagar, a component of Johnnie Walker blends. The Lochnagar distillery became Royal after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited the distillery whilst staying at Balmoral. A 75cl version of the old wooden box presentation of Royal Lochnagar\'s prestigious Selected Reserve, which was phased out around 2008. Bottle Number: 1361 Nose: A virtual aroma wheel of Highland Whisky aromas carefully weaving scents of rich, sweet malt, an herb garden, fruit cake, caramel walnuts, and butterscotch. Palate: In full agreement with the nose being perhaps richer and more luxurious than the dense aromatic profile had indicated. This Whisky is impossibly lush while never becoming overly sweet and maintaining a balance that invites sip after sip. Finish: Long and sweet
